Meet the team! Our friendly group of instructors are dance fanatics

and want to share their DIS DANCE passion with you!

KELLY​ ADAMS

Kelly Adams is the principal of DIS DANCE and currently teaches Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Mrs Adams has been dancing since she was 4 and has completed her RAD ballet exams with a distinction or honours average. She is currently finishing off her Diploma in Dance Teaching and Management, is a level 1 accredited Cheer Coach, has a Bachelor of Teaching and also currently works as Year 5 teacher at Kellyville Ridge Public School. 

 

Mrs Adams has been teaching dance for 11 years in a range of styles such as Ballet, Jazz, JFH, Cheerleading, Hip Hop and Contemporary. She has been the University of Wollongong Dance Club President and taught Wollongong Hawks Half Time Entertainment group "Lil Missies".  

 

In 2014, Mrs Adams organised and choreographed a Flash Mob for the Cancer Council at Rouse Hill Town Centre and was also employed by Norwest Christian College as their dance teacher. Mrs Adams is also currently employed to teach Vacation Care dance programs all over Sydney during the school holidays.

 

Mrs Adams has also worked as a primary and high school dance teacher, has instructed classes for Business Conferences and has worked in several other dance studios before opening DIS Dance 6 years ago.  

 

Mrs Adams has 2 children aged 5 and 2 and is looking forward to number 3's arrival in February! Mrs Adams' 5 year old Seth is currently dancing for DIS and she is looking forward to her 2 year old Chelsea joining the team in 2015. 

 

Mrs Adams prides herself on fun and educational classes where students feel valued and an intergral part of a team and is looking forward to many more years of dance teaching!

JESS WANDERS

Jess Wanders currently teaches on Monday and Tuesday afternoons teaching Senior Contemporary, Senior Cheer, Advanced Junior/Intermediate Tap, Junior Tap, Senior Jazz and Senior Tap.

 

Miss Jess has been dancing since she was 4 years old, starting at a local dance studio in Riverstone.  She has completed exams in R.A.D Ballet and B.D.A Jazz and Tap, and competed in many Eisteddfods growing up for both solo and troupe routines in the style of Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Song and Dance, Musical Theatre, Contemporary and Lyrical, competing both locally and interstate.

 

Miss Jess completed HSC Dance at Terra Sancta College and competed in the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge with Terra Sancta, where she was dance captain.  She proudly performed in the opening ceremony of the Pan Pacific School Games and in the opening ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. 

 

Miss Jess has 4 children Jodi (6), Ella (5), Alyssa (4) and Issac (3).  All three of her girls dance at DIS DANCE with Jodi in Junior Ballet, Jazz and Tap and Ella and Alyssa in Tiny Tots.

 

Miss Jess has been teaching at DIS DANCE for the past 3 years and is looking forward to teaching her girls and the students at DIS for many more.

LYN SULLIVAN

Miss Lyn started dancing at age 3 in the UK, studying and completing exams in RAD ballet and ISTD ( Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) Tap, Jazz, National and Modern Theatre Dance. At a very young age Lyn knew she wanted to teach dancing! After completing her schooling Lyn auditioned and was accepted into a 2 year full time dance course. Over the 2 years Lyn studied a wide variety of subjects to an advanced level including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Commercial Dance, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Exercise to music, Pilates, choreography and many many more. Lyn graduated with a Higher National Diploma in Professional Stage Dance. 


Lyn now has over 10 years of dance teaching experience, having worked in many dance studios, primary schools and pre schools. Lyn ran her own dance school in Scotland before immigrating to Australia in 2012. 

Lyn was very pleased to join the team at DIS Dance in 2013. This year she is teaching Tiny Tots, Junior Cheer, Junior Hip Hop and Intermediate Boys Hip Hop & Fitness. 

Lyn has 3 children, Caitlin (11), Stevie (4) and Max(1). Caitlin and Stevie are students at DIS Dance and look forward to continuing their dance education with DIS for years to come!

ROBYN WHYBROW

Miss Robyn has been dancing since she was 4 and has completed numerous RAD Ballet exams with excellent results. She has studied a variety of dance styles including Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Tap and has been assistant teaching for 8 years. Although Miss Robyn does not teach any classes herself, she attends many of the classes to either assist with teaching or do administration. She is responsible for all the invoicing and accounts and administration correspondence.

 

Miss Robyn has 2 children. Sam (5) who dances in Junior Boys Hip Hop and Cassie (2) who looks forward to starting lessons in 2015!
